We put the Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Liquid Lip Blush & Cheek Tint to the test after receiving a complimentary sample from the brand. Keep reading for our full product review.

Warmer weather is finally arriving, and I’m ready to break out the products that give me that “basking in the sun all day” look. Infinite blushes, bronzers, and lip products on the market offer aspects of what I’m looking for, and I frequently wish they could all be combined into one. I love multi-functional products but have yet to find one that suits my skin type, so I was curious to try the Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Liquid Lip Blush & Cheek Tint, which has been a TikTok fan favorite for the past couple of years. I haven’t tried it, but I was captivated by its rosy red hue and wanted to see if it could help me accomplish the minimal yet pigmented and glowy look I’m after. Read on for my full review of the multi-purpose lip and cheek tint.

Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Liquid Lip Blush & Cheek Tint

Best for: Most skin types

Uses: A lip and cheek tint that adds buildable, long-lasting color to any makeup look.

Potential allergens: Geraniol and linalool

Price: $24

Shade range: Six shades, ranging from cherry red to rosy pink to peach

About the brand: Benefit Cosmetics is an American beauty brand originally founded in 1976 by twin sisters and makeup artists Jean and Jane Ford. The brand is now known for leading the brow category, as well as complexion franchises and cult-favorite makeup products like Benetint.

About My Skin: Prone to dryness

I’m a big fan of lip products and blushes, and they’re what I have the most of in my makeup collection. I’ve been using solely lip gloss and lip balm for the last year because my lips are so dry, and my go-to recently is the Colourpop Blotted Lip ($9). My current blush preference is a dewy, pigmented finish. I added the Benefit Benetint Liquid Lip Blush & Cheek Tint to my daily makeup routine, trying it on top of my foundation and concealer as well as on my bare skin.

How to Apply: Directly with the applicator

Applying Benetint is fairly simple: You can use the included applicator to glide the product onto your lips, layering to build intensity. Carefully blot your lips with a piece of paper to prevent the color from spreading to your teeth. If you have dry lips, apply a lip gloss on top.

To use the product as a blush, place a few dots on your cheeks and blend quickly with a brush or beauty blender. You can also use your fingers if you prefer, but beware that staining is likely.

The Results: Flushed, healthy-looking cheeks and lips

When I opened my Benetint lip and cheek tint for the first time, I quickly swatched the back of my hand. The product starts off slightly runny, but it dries super fast. I used a makeup wipe to remove it, but it barely moved, so I had to apply a liquid makeup remover to remove the swatch. I found the color's staying power to be particularly impressive.

I placed three dots of Benetint on my cheeks and saw a pretty, sheer finish, but I decided to add a second coat to make the color pop more. Notably, when applied to my bare face as opposed to over makeup, the initial application was more visible and lasted all day—even at 9:30 p.m., it was still there. The product is also lightweight, which I love.

When it came to my lips, I was in love with the stunning cherry color, but the product was a little drying, so I added a clear gloss on top. The color lasted for a few hours before it started to fade away. Overall, I was impressed with how buildable this product is, and it’s comforting to know that I can leave my blush and lipstick at home and only bring this one product with me.

The Value: Tiny but mighty

The Benefit Benetint Liquid Lip Blush & Cheek Tint is $24 for a 0.2-oz. bottle, and while the amount seems small, a little goes a long way. Even if you decide to build up the color, the formula is super lightweight, and one bottle will last you months. Secondly, since this product is suitable for use on your lips and cheeks, it saves room in your bag and can simplify your routine on the go. If a sheer, flushed look is what you are going for, then this duo is certainly for you.

Similar Products: You've got options

Tower 28 BeachPlease Tinted Balm: This tinted lip and cheek product ($20) is a creamy, pigmented multitasker to achieve sun-kissed skin. Six shades are available, making finding one that fits your skin tone easier. If you want more of a balmy texture, then this one is a better fit than the Benefit Benetint.

Han Skincare Cosmetics Multi-Use: This multipurpose stick ($22) is great for adding a healthy splash of color to any area of your face. There are eight shades available, and you get a solid amount of product for the price.

Final Verdict

The Benefit Benetint Liquid Lip Blush & Cheek Tint is a must-have to achieve a sheer, "no-makeup makeup" finish with a subtle monochromatic look. It adds just the right amount of color to refresh your face while remaining natural-looking.
