ICYMI, Anne Hathaway took the Internet by storm when she attended the Bulgari Aeterna High Jewelry Event in Rome on May 20 in none other than a dress from Gap—yes, the Gap. The actress proved she can stun from head to toe in just about anything, even an unbuttoned, floor length white shirtdress.
The design was created by Zac Posen, the creative director of Gap and chief creative officer of Old Navy. “Designing this custom white shirt dress was an exciting opportunity to reimagine Gap’s classic white shirt. By incorporating elements like the shirt’s collar and placket, and adding feminine touches with darting at the waist, we created a modern look that pays homage to the elegance of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. It’s a connection of timeless style with contemporary fashion,” Posen said in a press release.
While red carpet styles aren’t typically released to the public post-event, shoppers will be able to purchase one of their own dresses in a rare pre-sale starting today at 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT. Orders will begin shipping in July, and only limited quantities will be available.
