Well, Charli XCX’s Marc Jacobs campaign is the next stop on her world domination tour. Miss XCX has been very, very busy posting on her private Instagram account, being in love with her drummer fiancé, dropping singles like she’s at a strip club, and serving unprecedented levels of a word that begins with the letter C that I can’t say because I’m at work right now. But now Charli has come for another bag. The Marc Jacobs Sack Bag, that is.
Charli XCX is the new face of Marc Jacobs’ campaign for the Sack Bag, a slouchy leather tote with the words, “THE SACK BAG MARC JACOBS” emblazoned very boldly and shamelessly on either side. In the pictures, she’s walking on all fours across a set of bright yellow fold out chairs, the sack bag balancing just delicately on the small of her back. In the photos, she’s wearing a very basic cream colored cropped sweater, a pair of lacy black briefs, and some strappy black patent leather heels.
We also do need to shout out the fact that lately, Charli’s half-Indian roots have been showing up and showing out. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s how she’s aging, maybe it’s whatever maintenance routine she’s doing, but whatever it is, keep going girl! You’ve never looked better. Her hair is a lion’s mane, her skin looks stunning, the eye makeup is so Cleopatra.
Charli XCX was made for editorials. Her look is so Internet Hot Girl, a concept she explores with an academic soberness in her latest music video for her song “360,” which stars her friends and fellow Internet Hot Girls, Rachel Sennott, Gabbriette, Chloe Cherry, Richie Shazam, Julia Fox, Alex Consani, Chloe Sevigny, and, if you can even stand to believe it, many many many others.
