Dua Lipa’s new era is upon us, and the 2024 Grammys red carpet is proof. At the end of 2023, the pop star hard-launched the end of her disco sound with cherry cola hair and a new single, “Houdini.” At the Golden Globes, we were treated to what this album rollout would bring to the red carpet. Now, at the biggest night in music, the red carpet looks of her Future Nostalgia era are officially in the past.
At this year’s Grammys, Lipa is nominated for two awards thanks to her hit song off of the Barbie movie soundtrack, “Dance the Night,” including Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Lipa has publicly stated that the track was the last disco-inspired song she would put out for a while, switching gears to a more psychedelic-rock sound on her upcoming album—making the look she wore on the red carpet the perfect way to confirm the end of an era, and the start of a new one.

On the red carpet, Lipa wore anything but disco attire. Although the finish may have slightly resembled a disco ball, the edgy, sultry vibe was all the more inline with her new indie sleaze-coded look. A floor-length, long sleeve, custom Courreges gown, the dress was head-to-toe silver, made up of small reflective beads. Square in shape, the beads layered around her body, loosely dangling and bouncing as she walked and posed. The column shape had small cutouts on her hips and a plunging neckline.

Once we stopped obsessing over her outfit, we realized her makeup packed just as much a metallic punch. A sleazy metallic smoky eye, she added a pop of shimmering color with lavender eyeshadow in her inner corner—blending the light purple hue under her eyes with her black eyeliner, as well as her on her eyelids. The bright eyes popped out from a base of glowy skin with bronzed cheesk and a flush of blush. The makeup was framed by her perfectly wavy edgy red hair. Accessories finished off the look, a Tiffany & Co. serpent choker and matching silver cuff.
