In case you missed it, the new Mean Girls movie just came out, and it has us revisiting all our favorite Plastics—new and old—and obsessing over their looks on and off set. First, it was all the stars who attended the films premiere—Reneé Rapp, Lindsay Lohan, and more. But now, all our attention is on Amanda Seyfried and her latest gorgeous makeup look.
On January 10, the actor attended a cocktail party thrown by InStyle and Lancôme to announce the beauty brand’s latest ambassador, Wednesday star Joy Sunday. Of course, Seyfried, who has been a longtime ambassador for Lancôme, had to show up in her best cocktail attire. Which she did, arriving in a makeup look she tells us made her feel like the “chicest, most radiant version of” herself.

The actor’s outfit was very on par with the librarian-chic trend currently having a moment. It featured a silky white miniskirt and a plain white dress shirt layered under a silky black blazer. She accessorized with some sparkly pointed-toe heels, a pocket square, and, of course, some killer makeup.
Done by Genevieve Herr, the look used all Lancôme products for the perfect day-to-drinks moment. Herr tells Byrdie she was inspired by Seyfried’s tuxedo look, and she “wanted to keep the eye make up simple and enhanced Amanda’s lips with a strong berry color.”
The look, of course, starts with skincare. “Always prepare the skin with a good moisturizer and eye cream,” says Herr. “I always, always use Lancôme Absolu Soft Cream ($165) and Lancôme Absolu Eye Cream ($150).”

Herr painted the actor’s complexion to perfection using the brand’s iconic Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care and Glow Foundation ($57), which she likes to apply with a damp sponge for sheer coverage. After setting with powder only in the T-zone, she added some color back in her cheeks. Instead of using a blush, Herr used the L’Absolu Rouge Intimate Blushing Nudes Lipstick ($35) in the shade Self Revealing. (Seyfried tells us that the lipstick is one of her favorite products from the brand because the colors are “warm and creamy.”) Herr says she chose to use the lippie as a cheek tint because she “always [will] go for a creamy blush” that will “melt and blend right into the skin.”
To create the star’s minimal eye look, Herr used Le Crayon eye liner ($28) in the shade Bronze to line her lash lines with a soft brown. She added nude and gold liquid shadow for a shimmering gold yet slightly smoky look that suited Seyfried perfectly.
Lips were the last step. For a very cherry mocha lip moment, Herr first went in with the Le Lip liner ($28) in shade 6, a dark red color. Then, she the actor’s lips with the L’Absolu Rouge lipstick in the shade Got Me Blushing for a dark, sultry red moment perfect for cocktail hour.
