New York Fashion Week is already under way. Celebs, fashion editors, and influencers have made their way to the city for start of the shows. Last night was Marc Jacobs 2025 Runway Show at the New York Public Library, so of course it was star-studded. Among its attendees was none other than fashion’s favorite home chef, Nara Smith. The model was wearing a baby blue satin mini dress with separate panels at the breasts.
And maybe it’s a little nod to her husband, who’s name is Lucky Blue if you need reminding. But she’s not the first person to be wearing baby blue. At the Grammys over the weekend, Sabrina Carpenter, who took home a couple trophies of her own, was on the carpet wearing a gorgeous baby blue feather gown by J.W. Anderson. Nikki Glaser also wore baby blue Stella McCartney dress to the Grammys, and Nicky Hilton wore a baby blue ensemble to a charity event she and her sister Paris hosted at the Museum of Ice Cream last week. Baby blue isn’t one of those color trends like bright Bottega green that appeared to just come out of nowhere and really become a maker’s mark of Mathieu Blazy’s Bottega work. It’s quite a popular color, especially in formal settings like workwear, uniforms, weddings, and such. However, it’s worth noting that it’s actually popping up more often than it was before.
But it’s New York Fashion Week, so expect to be watching out for the trend setters and early adopters if you’re someone who likes to be early to trends in your circle of friends. Baby blue is a hard one to beat.
