2025 Spring Accessory Trends

2025 Spring Accessory Trends

Well, friends! We’re wrapping up Spring Trends Week, and today it’s all about the biggest handbag and accessory trends for Spring 2025.

Accessories—whether jewelry, eyewear, or belts—are one of the easiest (and often most affordable) ways to refresh your wardrobe. And when it comes to handbags, while they’re more of an investment, the cost per wear always justifies a great bag. Plus, the best part about accessories is, they always fit!

Handbag & Accessory Trends for Spring 2025

This season, I feel like everything is getting bolder—from statement jewelry and oversized sunglasses to wider belts and eye-catching handbags. The quiet luxury era seems to be fading, making way for pieces that stand out and add personality to your look. As always, this is not an exhaustive list, but these are a few of the big ones that caught my eye.

#1. Bold Belts

Belts are having a major moment, worn over coats, dresses, and even sweaters to add shape and interest. Styles are getting bigger and more statement-making, with wider widths, woven textures, suede finishes (yes, even for spring and summer), and studded details leading the way. I’m also seeing animal prints popping up in belts more and more.

#2. Statement Jewelry & Charms Everywhere

Jewelry is getting bolder as well—think bold hoops, chunky bangles, etc. Also, the charm trend is exploding. Charms are showing up on bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and even bags—a playful way to personalize accessories.

#3. Scarves as Accessories

Scarves are making a comeback as outfit accessories, tied around the neck, wrist, or bag, as well as incorporated into hair styling. Expect to see silk, lightweight wools, and even bandana-style scarves popping up in more looks.

#4. Structured & Slouchy Bags (Plus Bag Charms)

Handbag trends are diverging between structured top-handle and east-west shapes and softer, slouchier styles. The buckle detail (Hermès-inspired) is trending, and bag charms are another way accessories are getting bolder and more playful.

#5. Horizontal & Round Sunglasses

Sunglasses are shifting toward horizontal, narrow silhouettes (giving a Y2K or futuristic vibe) and rounder styles for a softer, vintage-inspired look.

#6. The Rise of Socks as a Style Statement

Socks are becoming more of a deliberate styling choice. Socks with sneakers are fully mainstream, we’re seeing a growing movement toward pairing textured, patterned, or colorful socks with loafers, ballet flats, and even sandals. This look still leans more fashion-forward and experimental outside of sneakers, but it’s gaining traction, especially in street style and editorial fashion.

#7. Raffia & Woven Leather Staying Strong

Natural textures like raffia and woven leather are still trending, continuing the artisanal, textured look that’s been popular in recent years. I’m seeing this in everything from jewelry and belts to hats and handbags.

Which of these accessory trends do you plan to lean into this season?

What Accessory Trends Are On Their Way Out This Spring?

When it comes to accessories, it’s not always black and white—some styles feel dated, but many just exist in that in-between space. They’re not trending, but they’re still perfectly wearable, especially when paired with more modern wardrobe pieces. Personally, I have plenty of designer bags and jewelry I’ve owned for years that never truly go out of style. That said, here are some styles that may be losing steam as we head into Spring 2025.

  • Quiet Luxury Minimalism – The ultra-subtle, logo-free aesthetic is still there, but we’re starting to see a shift towards bolder, more expressive accessories that add personality to an outfit.
  • Micro Bags – While small bags aren’t disappearing entirely, the barely-functional micro bags are being swapped for more practical, structured, or slouchy options that actually hold your essentials.
  • Delicate, Dainty Jewelry – Minimalist jewelry is taking a backseat as chunkier, more statement-making pieces dominate.
  • Skinny Belts – While they’ll always have their place, wider belts (think woven textures, suede, and studded details) are the fresher choice.
  • Minimal Crossbody Bags – Crossbodies aren’t going anywhere, but the ‘mailbag‘ styles and boxy camera bags are losing traction. Instead, bolder shapes are taking over—think structured top-handle bags with optional crossbody straps, bucket bags, and more relaxed silhouettes. Belt bags worn crossbody are also still going strong.
  • Overly Matchy Accessories – The perfectly coordinated handbag, belt, and shoe sets feel a little outdated. Instead, mixing colors and textures creates a more modern look.
  • Oversized Sunglasses – The bigger-is-better sunglasses trend is cooling off in favor of smaller, circular, and oblong frames that feel fresh and modern.
