Jennifer Lawrence is breathing new life into the Mob Wife aesthetic. The actress—who is expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney—was spotted out and about in the Big Apple on Wednesday, February 13, wearing a loud leopard coat. If you recall, animal print pieces saw a major resurgence in 2024 thanks to the Mob Wife aesthetic, which is categorized by bold accessories, over-the-top jewelry, heavy makeup, long nails, and big hair. (Think Carmela Soprano from The Sopranos, Karen Hill from Goodfellas, and Ginger McKenna from Casino.) Lawrence, meanwhile, made the trend maternity friendly by throwing the outerwear over her baby bump.

The Hunger Games star styled the look, which featured a loose but chic fit, with a navy sweater and matching sweatpants. She kept her feet protected from the snow and slush with a pair of chunky black boots. Lawrence accessorized with an oversized black tote, circular sunnies, and a black beanie, which drew attention to her blunt bangs.

While leopard print has become synonymous with the Mob Wife aesthetic, the trend is actually quite timeless. In fact, animal print (whether leopard, cheetah, zebra, snakeskin, and beyond) is considered a wardrobe staple. It pairs well with almost any color and can be worn in any season. You can find animal print jeans, handbags, and shoes. In addition to Lawrence, stars like Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez have donned leopard-covered looks on and off of the red carpet.

If you’re stuck on how to style a print, namely leopard, stick to dark solids like Lawrence did with navy. You can also try black, gray, or deep purple. Once you’re a bit more comfortable, you can branch out with reds and pinks—even if you’re just pairing a leopard coat with a rosy lip. To help you channel your wild side, we’ve rounded up a few leopard print coats below.
