Ever since launching in 2016, Rothy’s has been at the forefront of comfort and sustainability in the footwear world. And I can’t stop wearing the brand’s shoes. From the machine-washable pointy flats (called “The Point”) that initially put Rothy’s on the map and in every Cool Girl’s closet, to comfortable and easy sandals for the summer (“The Weekend Slide”), the brand has released one hit after another while staying true to its original mission.
I’ve been lucky enough to test a slew of Rothy’s shoes, but my latest obsession is The Buckle Clog, a machine-washable, foot-friendly clog that’s made of the brand’s signature sustainable blend of recycled plastic bottles. And yes, it looks a lot like the Birkenstock Boston clog—but as someone who also owns those, I can confirm that the Rothy’s version are so much more comfortable.
Rothy’s The Buckle Clog $169 Buy Now Sizes available: 5-13 (they do run large, you can probably size down)

Sustainable
Cons:

I’ve been testing this pair for about a month now, and they’ve quickly become my favorite shoe to wear, whether I’m padding around the house, taking my daughter on a walk in her stroller, or going in to the office (they look equally chic with some trousers as they do with my favorite leggings).
Unlike most Rothy’s shoes, which you generally do need to size up at least a half-size, the Buckle Clogs are extra roomy. I almost sized up to 9 because my feet expanded from an 8 to an 8.5 (*sheds tear*) after my pregnancy, but after reading all the reviews, I decided to stick with an 8. And as you can kind of tell in the photo above, there’s still a bit of room left. This makes it a lot easier to wear with chunky socks, which is quite the *vibe* right now.
These shoes are SO comfortable: I have flat feet, so while I have a gigantic shoe collection, I realistically only wear a couple pairs that keep my feet from aching. Thanks to the cushioning, my arches (or lack-thereof) feel supported, and I’ve worn these all day long without any consequences. I’ve even walked a few miles in these pushing my baby in her stroller, and my feet felt just as good as they would in my Brooks running sneakers. I’m sorry, but Bostons could never.
Other star features include an adjustable front strap with a chic gold buckle, Rothy’s EverDreamy Footbed cushioning (this feels like you’re walking on pillows), and ribbed outsoles to keep you from slipping (very important in my house, as I have two dogs that leave giant puddles of drool everywhere on our hardwood floor).

I’m not the only one who loves these shoes, either. One shopper says, “I’m a teacher and since I got these I wear them almost everyday. So comfortable and my feet are happy all day long.”
I actually haven’t washed them yet, but this shopper claims it’s easy-peasy: “Super comfortable and go with everything! My dog left a muddy foot print on top of the shoe and I was able to throw them in the wash which was so nice.”
Does the perfect clog really exist? I’d say yes.
