Last year, Sabrina Carpenter put out one of the biggest pop records of the year. She put out “espresso” right before her big Coachella set, and before the caffeine could hit, it had become the song of the summer. This year, she’s a first-time Grammy nominee, but you wouldn’t know it with her whopping six nominations. Well, the girl came dressed to stun. She wore a beautiful baby blue custom JW Anderson floor-length gown.
Carpenter’s dress goes as well with her blond curls as it does with the album cover we’ve seen plastered on playlists, billboards, Twitter, and more. The dress features a beautiful and visually weighty knot at the base of her decolletage, from which two strings of pearls wrap over her shoulders and all the way down her back. The dress has a serious trim of feathers both at the waist and down at the hem of her dress.
Carpenter is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album for Short n’ Sweet, Best Pop Solo Performance for her single “Espresso”, Best New Artist, Song of the Year for her single “Please, Please, Please,” Album of the Year for “Short n’ Sweet,” and Record of the Year for “Espresso.”
Carpenter said in an interview with People after the nominations came out, “I’ve always been true to myself and believed in my work since I was young. I’ve realized that it’s always been about the small baby steps that you take over time to get you to this point.”
She posted an Instagram carousel of herself on her tour bus reacting to the livestream where her nominations were called out.
