Doechii is the buzziest new name on the music industry’s lips. She’s nominated for Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Album, and it seems every other day, a new old interview of hers is going viral. New fans are discovering her as we speak. But Doechii is also on the minds of the fashion-obsessed. And the outfit she wore to dance rehearsal is prime example of why.
Doechii wore a black cropped tank top, a black compression bolero shrug, a visible bejeweled thong sitting at her hops, and a pair of gaucho sweat pants. She styled it with some leg warmers, pointed toe kitten heels, a large leather tote that kind of looks like it could be a Telfar, but there isn’t a good enough angle to be sure. She also has on a pair of Bayonetta glasses and the fashion accessory of all fashion accessories—the wired headphone.
Doechii has been very smart about how she uses style. Her late night performaces have been styled to the gods, she’s been wearing gorgeous fits from the likes of Gucci and Miu Miu and putting them together in a way that really spells out who her performance persona is. It’s a real character and it feels very avant garde and fully developed. Her fashion icon status was further cemented in Rachel Tashjian Wise’s Opulent Tips newsletter, where she was listed as one of the best dressed people of 2024. “I don’t believe any musician uses fashion as creatively as Doechii,” Wise wrote.
