Ayo Edebiri channeled America’s favorite pretty woman at the 2025 Golden Globes. Edebiri, who was nominated for her role in The Bear at the 82nd annual ceremony, graced the Sunday, January 5, event in an oversized gray suit from Loewe.

She paired the she-means-business look with a gray button-up shirt, a gold feather tie, and dark loafers. Edebiri wore her hair, which appeared to be newly dyed a reddish-brown hue, in loose curls, parted down the middle. Other standout details of Edebiri’s getup included gathered fabric at the waist of her straight-leg pants. Edebiri’s stylist, Danielle Goldberg, took to Instagram to reveal the inspiration behind the look, sharing an image of Julia Roberts in a similar suit from the Globes in 1990. The snap was accompanied by a post on X that read, “Ayo fresh off a set with Julia…Golden Globes on Sunday…Danielle Goldberg can you hear me?” (Roberts and Edebiri are set to star alongside each other in the film After the Hunt.) Goldberg also shared a snap of retired athlete Carmelo Anthony in a baggy gray blazer and slouchy pants from the 2003 NBA draft.

Roberts’ look came from the men’s section of the Armani boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Roberts picked out the look herself and even had it tailored in the store. For the big night, Roberts paired the getup with a purple tie. She wore her curly red hair loose and thrown over to the side. That year she took home the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for her role in Steel Magnolias

Edebiri’s Julia Roberts-inspired ensemble comes as no surprise considering the rising star has an unpredictably cool wardrobe. She sticks to brands like Bottega Veneta, Thom Browne, and Loewe, rocking bold patterns and funky patterns that feel classic and refreshingly unique.
