If my closet had a MySpace top 8, Baggu would be at the top of my friend list. I’ve been a fan of the company for over a decade and have several staple styles like the reusable grocery bags, packing cubes, and puffy laptop sleeves in my collection. And when the brand drops collaborations with designers like Sandy Liang and Collina Strada, I am all over it. But, out of everything I own, nothing gets more love from me than the Baggu Crescent Bag. I own it in several sizes and colors and wear it so much that it’s now a key component of my personal style.
With its viral popularity, the crescent bag has become a trend of its own, with lots of different brands creating their own versions of the iconic silhouette. But, when it comes to finding one that won’t cost upwards of $50, I’ve got good news: I found a Baggu Crescent Bag lookalike—and it’s nearly half the price. Keep reading for my comparison of the OG and its more affordable twin.
My Review of the Baggu Crescent Bag
The Baggu Medium Nylon Crescent Bag is one of my most tried-and-true bags. I bought my first one a few years ago and have since started an entire collection in various colors and limited edition styles (like this one from the now-sold-out Jessica Williams collection). I love it so much that I recently purchased the smaller version, too.
It’s constructed from heavyweight nylon, with a ripstop nylon lining and a durable (and adjustable) strap, so it can withstand a lot of daily wear and tear. I’ve put mine to the test by not only wearing it in my everyday life but also taking it with me on many trips, including on a three-week-long tour with my musician husband. One of the best things about this bag is how well it packs down into my backpack so that I can easily get by airport security with that two-bag minimum.
The bag might look small, but it actually holds a ton of stuff (I jokingly refer to it as my Mary Poppins bag). So, whether you wear it to work, on vacation, or a night out, it’s functional enough for all sorts of situations, making it all the more versatile, too.
The Best Baggu Crescent Bag Lookalike
As much as I love the Baggu Crescent Bags, I’ve been on the hunt for a cheaper option so that I can add more to my wardrobe without breaking the bank. As it turns out, there are quite a few Baggu Crescent Bag alternatives out there—including some more budget-friendly options, this minimalistic option from Quince, and even pricier ones like this chic shoulder bag style from Lululemon—but none have quite as many color options as the OG. That is, until the FASTFAIRY Nylon Crescent Bag entered the chat.
Amazon FASTFAIRY Nylon Crescent Bag $28+ Buy Now Sizes: Small, medium, and large
Material: Nylon
Colors: 11
While on a recent Amazon scrolling spree, I came across the FASTFAIRY Nylon Crescent Bag and the similarities between this design and the Baggu one are uncanny. This alternative comes in small, medium, and large sizes, all for around $30 or less. It’s available in 11 different colors and is also constructed from a waterproof nylon fabric (like the OG). Plus, it has some fun features like an interior lanyard.
With its impressive similarities, this bag feels like it’s one TikTok review away from going viral. Right now, it has 4.7 stars from nearly 400 Amazon customers who are obsessed with the Baggu lookalike. “Probably the best knockoff Baggu I’ve found,” one customer writes. “The price point is affordable, and despite being half of the price of Baggu, the material is extremely well made and doesn’t feel cheap,” says another.
