About My Skin: Neutral undertones
Usually, my complexion matches well with neutral tones of complexion products (check out a few of our favorite foundations), which also means that certain bright colors can be a hit or miss for my taste in makeup shades. My comfort zone is to stick to cool, brown eyeshadow, deep mauve blush, and silver-toned highlighter–if any. I have been curious about what other hues might work for me, so it was nice to step outside of my norm and give a colored, cream stick a chance.
How to Apply: Swipe onto desired areas and blend
Thread Beauty’s Blend It Multistick lives up to its name, as it’s truly multi-functional. You can apply it however and wherever on the face that works for you—although some shades aren’t suitable for use around the eyes, according to the brand. I was most comfortable using my fingers as I felt it allowed for the best pigment payoff, but you can also use a brush or makeup sponge (check out the five sponges we love most) to apply and blend. In that case, it may be helpful to use a brush that isn’t too dense so the pigment doesn’t end up getting lost. If color payoff is top priority to you, the brand emphasizes that the product is buildable, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t achieve high pigment with one swipe.

Immediately, I was a fan of its functional concept, and I decided to apply the shade Giver—a warm red-orange—to my eyes, the bridge of my nose, and the apples of my cheeks. The brand offers a variety of shimmery shades, but Giver isn’t one of them: Instead, it’s a solid pigment that went on like a smooth, cream blush. With this multipurpose stick, I was able to achieve a rosy, monochromatic makeup look that fully satisfied me. If you have oily skin like I do, you might benefit from using eyeshadow primer before this product to prevent premature pigment fading. Overall, the color lasts for an average to long amount of time, depending on your day’s activities.
