The queen of beauty trends is at it again—Hailey Bieber has the internet in a chokehold with her latest food-inspired makeup look. Enter your new go-to winter inspo: super plum fairy makeup.

Inspired by winter and holiday styles, sugar plum fairy makeup is a sparkly and vibrant twist on the looks seen in the Nutcracker ballet. Utilizing lots of pinks, this style sets to achieve a sweet, whimsical cold-weather-friendly look and falls somewhere between the balletcore and strawberry makeup trends, also made popular by it-girl and Rhode founder, Miss Bieber. With growing popularity on TikTok, makeup enthusiasts are ditching the classic red lip and sharp eyeliner for this soft and dreamy style instead.

“Sugar plum fairy makeup is the go to makeup for 2024. It is effortless glam that looks good on everyone,” says celebrity makeup artist, FacesByDanii. “The less makeup (but the more glow) you have the better.”

To get this look, celebrity makeup artist Sarah Egan helped us break down Hailey’s viral video.

Face

Starting with your base, Egan recommends starting your look with a glowy, dewy primer, such as Hi Beautiful You Skin Perfecting Tint ($48), to set yourself off on the right foot.

Once your base is in order, go in with your favorite concealer, applying a few dots under your eyes and around any blemishes or red spots. Bieber uses Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer ($36), and blends out towards her temples and cheeks to achieve a natural base. Be sure to apply a few drops to your nose as well, as this area is prone to redness in colder weather! Next, add your contour along your cheekbones and hairline.

Once your contour is blended, it’s time for the fun stuff—blush! Using the same brush or blender you used for your contour, layer your favorite blush across your cheekbones. Egan recommends using a bright color, such as e.l.f Camo Liquid Blush in Comin’ in Hot Pink ($7) or Saie Dew Blush in Bright Berry ($25). Be sure to blend across the cheek to the temple and add a drop to the nose for that “I just stepped out into the freezing cold” look. If desired, you can add a second layer of blush for a heavier look to really lock in the color.

To really embrace the Cold Girl aesthetic, brush your brows to your liking and set them using Anastasia Beverly Hills Strong Hold Brow Gel ($22). If you want to add some faux-freckles like Bieber, dot Beaubble Berry Freckled Pen ($22) across the cheeks and nose.

Eyes

Next, Bieber applies the same blush to her eyelids, gently tapping in with her fingers. You can use another shade of blush, or a similar eyeshadow, to add a bit of dimension. We recommend NudeStix Nudescreem Blush Tint in Strawberry Sunburst ($30)—thanks to the added SPF, it’s the perfect build for skiing or long winter activities. To top off the eyes, add a shimmery white shadow to give that sugary-sweet look a la the Sugar Plum Fairy. Bieber also added an additional layer of eye gloss to achieve a wet, shiny and sweet finish.

Lips

Lastly, Egan recommends finishing off this dewy look with a bit of xx Mascara and a rosy brown lip MAC Lip Liner ($24). Of course, Bieber’s final touch is her iconic Rhode Lip Tint, which adds a shiny finish that looks good enough to eat.
